Poem:
For as long as I can remember
you have been an incredible
presence in my life
The doting mother
A role you were born to play
And still play so well today
Whenever I need someone
to talk to
You are there
How clever you are
Always knowing
When I need advice
Or perhaps, just an ear to listen
It’s funny, in my entire lifetime
I have never entered a room in your presence
Without seeing your entire face light up
Only you Mom, do that for me
And it makes me feel so loved
Now that I am with child
I think of all of the lessons and gentle mothering
you have given me over the years
And I have come to the realization
that no matter how nervous or afraid I am
about becoming a new mother
I will be fine because I have you, Mom
and if I give my child all that I was given
Then my child will always know love
Thank you Mom for being my greatest inspiration
You have inspired me to be
the best mother I can possibly be
Mom, you mean the world to me!
